Can you find equations which equal every number from 1 and 20 using only four 4’s and any operation?
Eg. 4 + 4 – 4 ÷ 4 = 7
Hint: Think about using fractions and square roots too.
0 = 44-44
1 = 44/44 or (4+4)/(4+4) or (4/4) / (4/4) or [(4! - 4)/ 4] - 4
2 = 4/4+4/4
3 = (4+4+4)/4
4 = 4*(4-4)+4
5 = (4*4+4)/4
6 = 4*.4+4.4
7 = 44/4-4
8 = 4+4.4-.4
9 = 4/4+4+4
10 = 44/4.4
11 = 4/.4+4/4
12 = (44+4)/4
13 = 4!-44/4
14 = 4*(4-.4)-.4
15 = 44/4+4
16 = .4*(44-4)
17 = 4/4+4*4
18 = 44*.4+.4
19 = 4!-4-4/4
20 = 4*(4/4+4)
