Weekly Overview and Wellbeing Week

03-MAY-2020

Dear Families,

Thank you for your patience and understanding over the first 3 weeks of the school term. Thank you for helping to keep our students happy, healthy, safe and learning

Your attitude and willingness to adapt to changes and tackle challenges has helped our students’ to succeed and our community to remain strong. As a school, we remain committed to providing the best learning and teaching that we can. We have not perfected it- no school has-and we keep striving to improve and refine our work each and every day.

Accompanying our Week 4 Year Level overviews are snippets of information about our wellbeing week focus.

Many of our families, staff and wider community members are feeling the pressures of living in a State of Emergency and that is why we have targeted week 4 as a time to focus on the need to stay connected and look after each other.

On Monday afternoon we’ll have a large number of staff joining our Teacher Parade and we’re hoping to see as many of our families as possible on route. The path we will take covers as much of our Designated School Zone as possible, and respects the zones of other local schools. We believe that it is a safe route and we are all looking forward to giving and receiving plenty of smiles from 3 pm

WEBEX meetings is the platform we will be accessing to connect to students ‘live’ via video conferences and we’re hoping that if we can iron out the last bugs in the system, we’ll launch this on Wednesday.

Throughout the week, we’ll be posting a staff “Who Am I?” via SEESAW and we’d love as many students (and parents) as possible to see if they can match the right description to the right teacher. We’re keen for our families to find out a little bit more about us and hope that the students have some fun with this. We’ll post the answers on Friday.

Learning Lunches- last week Di Cameron and a couple of helpers began delivering ‘Learning Lunches’ to our Edithvale families who we are aware of that may be struggling at this time. Di is keen for her canteen services to be used and if you are finding things tough right now, please let the school know and we’ll endeavour to get some lunches (sandwiches, drink, and fruit) to you in the coming weeks All families who we know receive CSEF have been contacted already and have been prioritised for our support and we are keen to expand this as the need arises.
