A remote learning survival guide and GEM TV

28-Jul-2020

Good afternoon EPS families,

I hope this sunny afternoon finds you safe and well. We have been so proud of the way our students and families continue to manage remote learning 2.0 and everyone deserves a big pat on the back for their effort so far.

We know that balancing work, school and home life commitments is extremely challenging for a lot of families and every family will do it slightly differently depending on their personal circumstances. The attached PDF, ‘Managing Remote Learning (a survival guide for parents)’, outlines some potential strategies you may wish to try at your house to support your children to meaningfully participate in their remote learning opportunities. We hope you find it helpful.

Another resource we have been able to provide to our school community is GEM TV. The Resilience Project launched GEM TV this week, a fantastic new broadcast hosted by Martin Heppell that students and families can tune into every day for 20 minutes of engaging activities focused on  GratitudeEmpathy, MindfulnessEmotional Literacy and Connection. The episodes will be available for viewing from 11am each day and will remain available until 10am the following morning. Season 1 of GEM TV will run until the 19th of August. You can tune in through TRP@HOME or https://theresilienceproject.com.au/at-home/gemtv/season-1/?mc_cid=3f9cf8fca3&mc_eid=2739695fae and each class will be reminding their students to tune in if they can and will provide the link on SeeSaw for easy access.

We are sure that you will find GEM TV a fantastic resource and a great way to look after the wellbeing of your whole family.

If we can offer further support to your family or your children in any way, please reach out to us via email at Edithvale.ps@education.vic.gov.au/ or give us a call on (03) 9772 1393.
