$750,000 from the State

04-May-2018

Dear Parents/Guardians

It is with great enthusiasm and excitement that I write to inform you of the significant funding allocated to Edithvale Primary School in the State Budget that was handed down in Parliament this week.

Recently I met with Tim Richardson MP and was told that our great school will soon be receiving $750 000 to help us bring aspects of our school’s landscaping master plan to life and to help establish plans for future capital works in the North Eastern corner of our school (the hall, art room area).

This significant investment in our school’s future comes as a very pleasant surprise and is the first step in trying to ensure further funding becomes available for us to ensure we have access to facilities and amenities befitting our school. This cash injection from the State Government is the greatest investment in our school for many, many years and helps to create great opportunities and possibilities for us that were previously out of our reach.

In the coming weeks and months we will be working closely with Department of Education and Training (DET) representatives, School Council, families and students to develop and begin to implement a strategic plan that has the best outcomes for our community.

Thank you to the many people involved who have helped us to get to this stage. The incredible sense of ‘community’ that abounds at Edithvale Primary School has been referenced many times by our local MP Tim Richardson, as an important reason why this funding has been made available to us and we will continue to build on this to make our school the envy of all others.

Kind Regards,

James Whitla
Principal
